He is seated in an upholstered chair, backed by wine colored drapes, looking directly at the viewer with a smille flickering across his features. His wife is simply coiffed and dressed, having a fringed silk shawl over her shoulders, her place held in a book with a forefinger. Housed in the original matching gilt cove frames, OS: 34" x 31", SS: 28 1/2" x 24 1/2", cleaned, relined and restored.
